Things to do
Kilmelford is ideally situated for many different forms of activity from gentle sightseeing locally to more vigorous activities – the variety is endless.
Three of the Glorious Gardens of Argyll – Arduaine, Ardmaddy and Crarae are well worth a visit all year round and particularly in April, May and June when the rhododendruns and azaleas are in full bloom.
Trout fly fishing is available in the Glenbeg Lochs (part of the former Glenmore Estate) with permits available in the shop. For those not keen on fishing walking the hills and taking in the views is an excellent alternative with seeing a golden eagle a distinct possibility.
There are numerous trips available from fast rib to more gentle vessels seeing seals, deer, wild goats and visiting the world famous whirlpool Corywrechen. However, we recommend Sea Life Adventures. You will also see numerous types of seabird including the possible sighting of a sea eagle, Europe’s largest bird.
